NJAL/Sabrina Zeng shop launch today, in honor of New York and London Fashion Week. Progress = Happiness!
September 4th 2015, exactly one month ago, I bought myself a one-way ticket from New York to Prague.
Prague, Paris, Milan, Burgundy, Hamburg, Istanbul, Cappadocia...where greetings changed from "How are you?" to "How was your journey?"
Today, I am typing these words under the stars of Kibaha, a small town in eastern Tanzania.
Carrie just sent a message saying it is a beautiful day in New York and she is at a sample sale. Ping texted that she was going to have an interview this Friday for a new position. I looked up into the sky and messaged back- I miss you so much, and I feel life is showing me another new chapter right now :)
Will you come with me? To be continued...
Introducing 80571 S Power Clutch
80571 Bedulu, Bali
I didn’t need a clutch in Bedulu. I was playing with the kids barefoot in the classroom and in the fields. I was riding a scooter in the rain with Andy, my co-teacher from UK, to the Luwak coffee plantation and nowhere… I didn't need a clutch in Canggu either. Sunrise and sunset, BingTang and Mie Goreng, Jenny and Charlie…“You can’t fight the ocean by yourself, Sabrina. Why don’t you grab the surfboard and let it flow?”
Did someone once say the place where tears are brought to your eyes is the place where the universe wants you to be?
I created this small clutch to remember all of you, the rice fields, and the waves…Thank you for reminding me that it’s the small moments of serendipity that make life big.
860100 Chiaroscuro Weekend Tote in SS15 colors coming this week!
860100 Nyingchi, Tibet
As if to Celebrate, I Discovered a Mountain Blooming with Red Flowers, 1981, Anish Kapoor. When I am not designing handbags, I am an avid hiker. All friends thought I went to climb Mountain Everest, but the story was I couldn’t get a border pass because my Chinese ID was expired, so we headed to Nyingchi.
Nyingchi means “the throne of the sun” in Tibetan. Eyes of life. Lush forest, vast hulless barley filed, wild Yarlung Tsangpo Grand Canyon. Yak bells singing, horses greeting outside the window, smoke dancing in the air. No phone calls, no Wi-Fi, the way I chose. In reality I met myself, over and over again, and that was the magic of wandering in Nyingchi...
SERENDIPITY / New York - Bali
I want to invite you to preview the collection, to discover and explore the urban New York and miraculous Bali through the Spring/Summer 2015 lookbook. Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy creating it! See you on the road :)
