SUSTAINABILITY

Currently, we are focusing on the 4 UN Sustainable Development Goals below, as they are directly related to our daily operations.

Slow fashion:

Sabrina Zeng is pioneering the usage of hand-made pleated leather- Currently 100% of our pleats are handmade. We create timeless, year-round designs and products that are made to last a lifetime. We produce in small batches, matching demand as closely as possible to prevent overproduction.

Sustainable materials and development:

Sourced from tanneries in Italy, our luxurious leather is naturally supple and resilient. The Leather Working Group, the world's leading environmental certification for the leather manufacturing industry, certifies 100% of our tanneries. Moreover, we opt for eco-friendly materials, such as vegetable-tanned leather, metal-free leather, and organic cotton twill, etc. as much as possible.

For our upcoming collections, we will continue to explore alternative tanning techniques to reduce CO2 emissions in collaboration with our tanneries. In addition, we will introduce alternative materials, such as BioFabbrica and Appleskin, to supplement our non-leather resources.

Factory transparency & Fair trade:

All of our bags are designed in NYC and handmade by artisans in Italy/Spain. All of our production partners are committed to the highest degree of ethical conduct and environmental responsibility. We maintain a close relationship with our partners and treat the artisans with great respect. We visit the factories several times a year and ensure fair working conditions, adequate working hours, and a safe working environment for everyone who participates in producing our lines.

Social impact:

Through our campaigns, we collaborate with and promote emerging women artists and entrepreneurs who share our same mindset.

The 2015 Serendipity/Bali-New York collection was inspired by Sabrina Zeng’s volunteer trip to Bali, and a portion of sales were donated to Yayasan Widya Guna. Since 2017, we have been working with Maison 10, a concept store/art gallery in NYC that donates 10% of all sales to selected charities. We launched the Women for Women Initiative in Feb 2020, through which, monthly donations went directly to our first partner BlinkNow, to fund empowering training programs in their Women’s Center in rural Nepal.
